Who this guide is for
US adults who want to trade NFL event contracts for the 2026 season — not build a DFS lineup and not chase a deposit match. Kickoff is Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (Patriots at Seahawks). Polymarket is our lead US on-ramp after the late-2025 QCEX re-entry: KYC, bank-linked funding, CFTC-regulated access in most states. The full product review lives on our Polymarket review; the sign-up sequence is in How to sign up for Polymarket (US 2026). KYC hold times are in How to complete Polymarket KYC; funding is How to deposit on Polymarket. The Kickoff Game URL is Patriots at Seahawks prediction markets. The Thursday Melbourne URL is 49ers vs Rams in Melbourne. The Sunday card is the Week 1 Sunday slate. The pre-kickoff clock is the NFL Week 1 prediction-markets checklist. This page is the NFL seasonal desk.
The 2026 NFL dates that matter
Season dates match the NFL’s published Week 1 schedule (same check as our NFL DFS Promos 2026 guide). Have the account verified and funded before Wednesday, September 9 — not on game night. Use the Week 1 checklist as the clock.
Kickoff Game
Wed, Sept 9, 2026
New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks, 8:20 p.m. ET at Lumen Field (NBC/Peacock/NFL+). A Super Bowl LX rematch against the defending-champion Seahawks — and the first Wednesday season opener since 2012. The first live NFL event-contract window of the year.
Week 1 Main Slate
Sun, Sept 13, 2026
The main Sunday slate — the deepest board of the young season. Week 1 spans 16 games across four days, so there is a qualifying market almost every night if the desk lists it.
Week 1 Monday Night
Mon, Sept 14, 2026
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs, 8:15 p.m. ET — the last chance to put Week 1 volume through a freshly funded account before the regular-season cadence settles in.
How to trade NFL kickoff on Polymarket
-
Step 1
Confirm your state is not blocked — especially for sports
US access is back, but it is not universal, and sports contracts are the most contested category. As of our June 2026 check Polymarket was reported unavailable in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. Florida is a green-light state. An NFL market that is listed nationally can still be hidden in your state. Confirm the sports desk in-app before you fund.
-
Step 2
Open the US (QCEX) entrance through a tracked link
Use the claim button on this page so you enter the compliant US flow. Polymarket returned to the US in December 2025 via its CFTC-licensed QCEX acquisition. That is the legal on-ramp for US residents — not the old offshore, no-KYC wallet route.
-
Step 3
Create the account and complete full KYC
Identity verification is required for US users. Have your legal name and ID ready; reviews and hold times are set by Polymarket, not by us. Finish this before Wednesday, September 9 — kickoff-night verification queues are the failure point.
-
Step 4
Link bank funding, then find the NFL board
US onboarding uses bank-linked funding rather than an anonymous wallet. Connect the method the app offers, read the live deposit screen, then look for NFL / sports event contracts. Typical boards include game winners, yes/no totals-style contracts, and longer futures (conference, Super Bowl). We do not republish live prices — the book in-app is the book.
-
Step 5
Read the live terms, then size a first trade as risk capital
We could not verify a standing official US welcome bonus on Polymarket’s own terms pages, and we do not republish other publishers’ partner codes. Event contracts can settle at zero. There is no DFS-style deposit-match floor. Trade only what you can afford to lose. Nothing here is investment advice.
Event contracts vs NFL DFS
A prediction-market contract is a Yes/No price between 1¢ and 99¢. Buy Yes at 60¢ and you pay 60¢ for a contract that settles at $1 if the event occurs and $0 if it does not. Your maximum loss is what you paid; your maximum gain is $1 minus that cost. There is no lineup, no salary cap, and no deposit-match rollover protecting a floor.
Daily fantasy on the rest of this site is a different product: state-licensed, often 21+ (18+/19+ where legal), with a 1-800-GAMBLER frame. If you also claim NFL DFS promos, read the NFL DFS Promos 2026 guide and the DFS legal states page — those rules do not carry over to event contracts, and the reverse is also true.
The other desks — editorial only
These platforms belong in a 2026 NFL comparison. They do not have live claim buttons on this page. Reviews are on-site; we are not sending you to a /go/ slug that is not live.
The CFTC-Regulated Exchange
Kalshi
CFTC-regulated; broadly available in all 50 states
The CFTC-designated contract market with the deepest non-sports book and a transparent order book. Broadly available across all 50 states, but sports contracts have drawn state-level challenges (including a contested Florida sports angle). Useful as a comparison desk — not a live claim on this page.
Restrictions: Sports contracts challenged by several state regulators (e.g. TN, OH, NV, MD, NJ, NY, MA, CT); FL sports angle contested via HB 189
The DFS-Brand On-Ramp
DraftKings Predictions
Live in ~38 US states
Event contracts inside the main DraftKings app — the lowest-friction on-ramp if you already play DFS. Live in roughly 38 states (Maine and New Hampshire excluded at minimum). 18+ with KYC; this is still a financial product, not a DFS bonus. Editorial only here — no outbound claim.
Restrictions: Excludes at least Maine (ME) and New Hampshire (NH); confirm the current list in-app
The Brokerage With An Events Hub
Robinhood
Event contracts run on CFTC-regulated exchanges; broad US availability
A Prediction Markets Hub inside a brokerage account, routing event contracts through CFTC-regulated exchanges. Best if you already hold Robinhood and want NFL contracts next to investing. Access varies by state and contract type. Editorial only — no outbound claim on this page.
Restrictions: Prediction-markets access varies by state and contract type; confirm in-app
Blocked and contested states
Polymarket reported unavailable as of June 2026: Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. That list is not a promise it stays still — litigation around sports event contracts in particular can narrow or shift access, which is the risk that matters most for an NFL page. If you are in a listed state, do not fund on the assumption the desk is open. If you are in Florida or another green-light state, still confirm the app lets you finish KYC and that NFL markets actually appear before you send money.
Age is 18+ with identity verification. Compare platforms on the prediction-markets hub.
What you will not get from this page
A dollar welcome match, a paste-this promo code, live NFL prices, or claim buttons for Kalshi, DraftKings Predictions or Robinhood. We could not verify a standing official US welcome bonus on Polymarket’s own terms. Other publishers’ partner codes are theirs; we do not copy them. The honest user-facing line is still US access via CFTC-regulated QCEX — confirm live sign-up terms and the NFL board in-app. Last verified August 8, 2026.
