How to Sign Up for Polymarket in the US (2026)

The US flow after the 2025 QCEX re-entry: check your state, complete KYC, link a bank, confirm live terms. Not a DFS bonus walkthrough.

Trading involves risk — read this first

Polymarket offers CFTC-regulated event contracts: financial/derivatives products, not sportsbook bets and not daily fantasy. You can lose money, including your entire stake. Nothing on this page is investment advice. For adults 18+ with KYC. State availability can change.

Advertising disclosure: the claim button is an affiliate link. We may earn a commission if you sign up through it, at no extra cost to you. That never changes our ratings, and it is not a user bonus.

Who this guide is for

US adults who want the compliant 2026 on-ramp — not a recap of the old offshore product. Polymarket is the world’s largest prediction market. After three years outside the US it re-entered in late 2025 by acquiring QCEX, a CFTC-licensed designated contract market and clearinghouse, and began onboarding US traders in December 2025. We cover that flow from Florida, which is a green-light state. The full product review lives on our Polymarket review; this page is only the sign-up sequence. The ID and hold-time walkthrough is How to complete Polymarket KYC; funding is How to deposit on Polymarket. If you are racing NFL Week 1, use the Week 1 prediction-markets checklist so KYC is done before Wednesday, September 9.

The US sign-up sequence

  1. Step 1

Confirm your state is not blocked

US access is back, but it is not universal. As of our June 2026 check Polymarket was reported unavailable in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. Florida is a green-light state. Sports markets are the most contested category anywhere. Confirm your state in-app before you fund — the blocked list can move.

  2. Step 2

Open the US (QCEX) entrance through a tracked link

Use the claim button on this page so you enter the compliant US flow. Polymarket returned to the US in December 2025 via its CFTC-licensed QCEX acquisition. That is the legal on-ramp for US residents — not the old offshore, no-KYC wallet route.

  3. Step 3

Create the account and complete full KYC

Identity verification is now required for US users. The no-KYC crypto-wallet era is over on this side of the re-entry. Have your legal name and ID ready; reviews and hold times are set by Polymarket, not by us. The ID and hold-time walkthrough is How to complete Polymarket KYC.

  4. Step 4

    Link bank funding

US onboarding uses bank-linked funding rather than an anonymous wallet. Official US docs list debit, ACH, and wire. Connect the funding method the app offers, then read the live deposit screen. The conversion walkthrough is How to deposit on Polymarket. Do not treat a publisher link as a bonus — it is how this site is supported, not extra credit in your account.

  5. Step 5

Read the live terms, then size a first trade as risk capital

We could not verify a standing official US welcome bonus on Polymarket’s own terms pages, and we do not republish other publishers’ partner codes. Confirm whatever is live in the sign-up flow. Event contracts can settle at zero. Trade only what you can afford to lose. Nothing here is investment advice.

Blocked and contested states

Reported unavailable as of June 2026: Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. That list is not a promise it stays still — litigation around sports event contracts in particular can narrow or shift access. If you are in a listed state, do not fund on the assumption the desk is open. If you are in Florida or another green-light state, still confirm the app lets you finish KYC before you send money.

Age is 18+ with identity verification. That is a different gate from the 21+ / responsible-gambling frame on our DFS pages, because these are traded financial instruments. Compare platforms on the prediction-markets hub and the seasonal NFL Prediction Markets 2026 guide.

What you will not get from this page

A dollar welcome match, a paste-this promo code, or a guaranteed first-trade credit. We could not verify a standing official US welcome bonus on Polymarket’s own terms. Other publishers’ partner codes are theirs; we do not copy them. The honest user-facing line is still US access via CFTC-regulated QCEX — confirm live sign-up terms in-app. Last verified August 8, 2026.

Polymarket also runs a separate in-app referral that can share trading fees with qualifying traders. That program is between you and Polymarket. We do not treat it as a sign-up offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can US residents sign up for Polymarket in 2026?
Yes, in most states. After acquiring CFTC-licensed QCEX and receiving a CFTC Amended Order of Designation, Polymarket began onboarding US users in December 2025. It is reported unavailable in a handful of states (AZ, IL, MA, MD, MI, MT, NV, OH as of June 2026). Always confirm in-app.
Do I still need KYC to use Polymarket in the US?
Yes. Full identity verification and bank-linked funding are required for the compliant US flow. The old no-KYC wallet path is not the US on-ramp.
Is there a Polymarket sign-up bonus or promo code on this page?
No. We do not publish a dollar welcome or a promo code. Partner codes that appear on other sites belong to those publishers. Confirm any live terms in the Polymarket US app. If you open Polymarket through our link we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — that is not a user bonus.
Is Polymarket legal in Florida?
Yes. Florida is a green-light state for users 18+ who complete KYC and use bank-linked funding. Sports markets remain the most legally contested category nationwide, so confirm current availability in-app.
Is signing up for Polymarket the same as opening a DFS account?
No. Polymarket offers CFTC-regulated event contracts — financial/derivatives products, not daily fantasy and not a sportsbook. The age line is 18+, the disclosure is trading risk (you can lose your entire stake), and there is no DFS-style deposit-match rollover protecting a floor.
