US adults who can already open Polymarket and now need to find markets that close soon — where sort / ending-soon / closing-soon lives if official help or the live browse labels it, why that reorder is not a category filter, and why it is not the clock on one opened ticket. This is not how to filter markets, not how to check when a market ends, not how to search for a player, and not how to read the activity feed. Where sort / ending-soon / closing-soon lives
Hard rule: if official US help names the control, we name it. If it does not, we describe the action — look for a live sort, or scan the resolution date already on each card. Official Browse Markets: find active markets on the home screen, then scroll the top categories. Each card shows the market question, current Yes and No prices, and a resolution date. That date is the published retail clock you can scan when you want tickets that resolve sooner. Official Place a Trade, Official Events & Markets, and Official Glossary do not reprint a retail tab, tile, or definition labelled Sort, Ending soon, or Closing soon on the swipe we checked. We will not invent that header.
If the live US app shows a sort / ending-soon control, use that live word
Describe the action
The action is: on the home-screen list (or the live browse you are already in), look for a control that reorders cards by how soon they end. If the live US product prints Sort, Ending soon, Closing soon, or End date, follow that live label. If the control is missing or named differently, stay on the list and read the resolution date Official Browse Markets already prints on each card. Do not hunt a tab we invent.
API order and end-date fields are not a phone sort menu

Official Markets API publishes orderBy and orderDirection, plus endDateMin / endDateMax and a closed filter. Those are how a developer can request a list nearer to expiration. They are not a home-screen Ending Soon chip we will paste onto the US swipe. Official Events & Markets also names endDate on a market record. A field name is not a retail button.
International Sort by / Ending Soon is not the US desk

The public international browse page (polymarket.com/predictions) prints Sort by with Trending, Liquidity, Volume, Newest, and Ending Soon. Official Website vs App: polymarket.com is a different product, and US residents cannot deposit or trade there. A sort — if the live app shows one — keeps the same universe and changes the order so nearer resolution dates rise. Tapping NFL does not put tonight’s tickets first. A sorted list is not a last-trade stamp, not a Resolution Timeframe in the Rules block, and not a lock we invent. If you already have one card open, leave this how-to.
Nearest resolution date is not automatically the last fill

Official Market Resolution: markets stay open until the event is over, then resolve after the official result is publicly confirmed. Official Prices & Market Data: Open means orders are still accepted. A card can sit near the top of an ending-soon list and still take a trade, or it can print closed before that date if the event is already over. Read the date, then still confirm the book. We do not reprint a live countdown.
Do not invent a closing-soon board or a minute-count
No invented slate
We will not type a 2026 kickoff, a “closes in 14 minutes” figure, or a live ending-soon pile. Official Market Rules teaching lines (including 11:59 PM ET on an end date) stay labelled as teaching copy. If search, the category strip, and any live sort all miss the ticket you wanted, the desk may not have listed it — that is not a prompt to invent the close.

Official Events & Markets: a market settles at $1.00 or $0.00 only for the contracts you hold. Official Place a Trade puts the fill after you pick a side and confirm. US access is back, but it is not universal. As of our June 2026 check Polymarket was reported unavailable in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. Florida is a green-light state. Sports markets are the most contested category anywhere. A ticket that ends soon nationally can still be hidden where you live. Blocked and contested states
Reported unavailable as of June 2026: Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. That list is not a promise it stays still — litigation around sports event contracts in particular can narrow or shift access. If you are in a listed state, do not treat an ending-soon card as a desk you can trade. If you are in Florida or another green-light state, still confirm the app lets you finish KYC and that the ticket actually appears — and still accepts orders — before you send money.
