Who this guide is for
US adults who already deposited and now need to get cash off Polymarket US. This is not how to deposit, not KYC, not how to read a contract, and not how an NFL ticket grades. Those pages are the on-ramp, the ID check, the ticket, and the grade. This page is the off-ramp: cash versus an open position, “resolved” versus “sell the ticket,” the three published US rails, and the timing those docs actually print. Polymarket is the only live outbound on this page.
Wallet versus cash
Official What is Polymarket US? splits the brand in two. The international product is crypto on a chain. The US product is a fiat, CFTC-regulated designated contract market — trades in US dollars. This how-to is the second desk.
Cash (what you can withdraw)
Official Check Your Balance: cash is the money not tied to any open position. Deposits land as cash. Sale proceeds and resolved-market proceeds return to cash automatically. Withdrawals come only from that cash balance, and only back to the original deposit source.
An open ticket (not cash yet)
A Yes or No you still hold is a position. It is not a withdrawable balance. You either sell it while the market is open, or you hold it through resolution and let Clearing mark it $1 or $0. Until one of those happens, there is nothing to send to a debit card.
A crypto wallet (not the US rail)
Official US Withdraw Funds lists debit, ACH, and wire. It does not list a self-custody wallet, a chain, or a token. We will not paste the international withdraw flow onto this page. If you are on the US (QCEX) account, you are in cash, not a wallet send.
Official US docs · no live balance · confirm cash versus positions in-app
Resolved versus sell the ticket
“Cash out” is three different clocks on Polymarket US. Do not treat them as one. The sportsbook-style cash-out button is not a listed product here — see prediction markets vs sportsbooks.
Sell the ticket
While the market is still open
Official US “Can I sell early?”: you can close a position at any time and do not have to wait for resolution. Sale proceeds are added immediately to your cash balance. That is cash on the exchange — not a bank deposit. Prices can move quickly as the event nears resolution; the fill you get is the book in-app, not a sportsbook cash-out button and not a number we reprint here.
Resolved / settled
After the official result, then Clearing
Official US Market Settlement: once the outcome is finalized, Polymarket Clearing sets winning contracts to $1.00, losing contracts to $0.00, and updates your Portfolio when settlement completes. That is when a held ticket becomes cash (or zero). Close is not pay. We could not verify a public minute-count from whistle to Portfolio update.
Withdraw cash off the exchange
After the funding deposit has fully cleared
Official US Withdraw Funds: you withdraw from cash, and only after the deposit that funded that cash has fully cleared — typically 3–4 business days. Instant buying power and any trading proceeds tied to that deposit wait on the same clear. Then debit and ACH typically arrive in 3–4 business days; wire typically arrives in 1 business day. Business days exclude weekends and holidays.
Official US docs · no invented payout minutes · close is not a bank credit
Official US withdrawal rails
These three methods are the ones listed on official Polymarket US Withdraw Funds. Arrival times below are what those docs published — confirm the live Withdraw To screen before you request a payout. We do not add rails.
Debit card
Small withdrawals
Typical arrival Typically 3–4 business days
Official US docs: funds return to the same card used for the deposit. Typical arrival is 3–4 business days after you request the withdrawal — and only if that deposit has already fully cleared. We could not confirm a published withdrawal minimum or maximum for debit.
Bank transfer (ACH)
Medium withdrawals
Typical arrival Typically 3–4 business days
Official US docs: funds return to the same bank account used for the deposit. Typical arrival is 3–4 business days. If ACH is rejected, official troubleshooting says to re-link the correct bank account. We could not confirm a published ACH withdrawal minimum or maximum.
Wire transfer
Large withdrawals
Typical arrival Typically 1 business day
Official US docs: typical arrival is 1 business day, and they add “contact support if needed.” We do not invent a wire-withdrawal click path, a published minimum, or a published maximum beyond that line. If the original deposit method is no longer active, official rules say to contact Polymarket US Support.
The US cash-out sequence
-
Step 1
Separate cash from an open ticket — and from a crypto wallet
Official US Check Your Balance: cash is the money not tied to any open position. You can trade it or withdraw it. An open Yes/No is not cash. Selling it (while the market is open) or waiting for settlement (after it resolves) is how it becomes cash. Polymarket US is the fiat, CFTC-regulated desk — official docs contrast it with the international crypto product. This page is the US cash withdraw, not a wallet send.
-
Step 2
Confirm the deposit that funded the cash has fully cleared
Official US Withdrawal Rules call un-cleared deposits “funds in flight.” You can still trade on them. You cannot withdraw them — or proceeds tied to them — until they fully clear. Debit and ACH typically take 3–4 business days; wire typically 1 business day after confirmation. The “Why can’t I withdraw?” FAQ adds that instant buying power can be credited up to $50,000 while the deposit is still processing, and that if a deposit is still pending after 5 business days you should contact support. Business days do not include weekends or holidays.
-
Step 3
Open Profile, then Withdraw, then Withdraw To
Official US Withdraw Funds: from the home screen tap the Profile icon at the bottom center, tap Withdraw on your Profile page, then tap Withdraw To to see payout methods. Choose debit card, bank transfer (ACH), or wire transfer — those are the three methods listed. We do not invent Apple Pay, PayPal, crypto, or other publishers’ rails.
-
Step 4
Send the withdrawal back to the original funding source — FIFO
Official US rules: withdrawals must return to the same payment method used for the deposit. You cannot redirect to a new or third-party account. Withdrawals are first-in-first-out. Their example: deposit $100 by debit, then $200 by ACH, and the first $100 you withdraw returns to the debit card. If that method is no longer active, contact Polymarket US Support. A publisher link is how this site is supported — it is not extra credit in your account.
-
Step 5
Read the live withdraw screen, then treat what leaves as risk capital you already sized
Arrival windows, AML holds, and available cash are set in-app and can change. Official overview says you withdraw the cash balance “securely and for free”; we could not confirm a published dollar withdrawal-fee schedule, a standing minimum, or a standing maximum. Your bank or card issuer may charge its own fee — that is not a figure Polymarket US publishes. Event contracts can settle at zero. Nothing here is investment advice.
Funds in flight, FIFO, and AML holds
Official Withdrawal Rules are the compliance layer, not a suggestion. Deposits that show as a balance before they fully clear are funds in flight. You can trade. You cannot withdraw. The same lock applies to proceeds from trading that used that deposit.
Withdrawals are first-in-first-out and return only to the original method. Official example: $100 debit, then $200 ACH — the first $100 out goes back to the debit card. Official troubleshooting adds that a mismatched method will fail, a stale ACH link should be re-linked, and AML reviews can temporarily delay processing. Support is support@polymarket.us or in-app chat; they ask for the exact error code.
The “Why can’t I withdraw my funds?” FAQ is the short version of the same rule: most blocked withdraws are an uncleared deposit. Instant buying power is not withdrawable buying power.
Fees — what is published, what is not
Official Withdraw Funds says you withdraw the cash balance for free. That is the cashier line we can confirm. We could not find a published Polymarket US withdrawal-fee table with dollar amounts, and we could not confirm a standing withdrawal minimum or maximum. We will not invent one.
Trading fees are a different schedule (taker fees / maker rebates on fills). They are not a withdraw fee, and this page does not reprint that table. Your bank or card issuer may charge its own inbound fee; Polymarket US does not publish that number. Confirm the live withdraw screen.
Promo credit is not a cash-out
Official “Why can’t I withdraw my promotional credit?”: promo credits are trading credits, not cash. They cannot be withdrawn — including after you trade them or after the related position settles. Only resulting proceeds may become withdrawable, and only after you link a payment method, make an initial deposit, and that deposit fully clears. That FAQ’s example: a $20 credit used in trading stays non-withdrawable; if settlement leaves $10 in eligible proceeds, up to $10 may become withdrawable under the normal withdrawal rules. We do not publish a promo code here.
Blocked and contested states
Reported unavailable as of June 2026: Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. That list is not a promise it stays still — litigation around sports event contracts in particular can narrow or shift access. If you are in a listed state, do not plan a payout on the assumption the desk is open. If you are in Florida or another green-light state, still confirm Withdraw appears before you treat cash as already on its way to the bank.
Age is 18+ with identity verification. That is a different gate from the 21+ / responsible-gambling frame on our DFS pages, because these are traded financial instruments. If you also want NFL DFS, start at the picks hub — those cashier rules do not carry over. Compare platforms on the prediction-markets hub.
What you will not get from this page
A dollar welcome match, a paste-this promo code, a crypto-wallet how-to, a guaranteed same-day payout, a published withdrawal minimum we could not find, live prices, or claim buttons for Kalshi, DraftKings, FanDuel, Underdog, Sleeper, PrizePicks, Hard Rock or BetRivers. We could not verify a standing official US welcome bonus on Polymarket’s own terms. Other publishers’ partner codes are theirs; we do not copy them. The honest user-facing line is still US access via CFTC-regulated QCEX — withdraw cash (not an open ticket) back to the original debit, ACH, or wire source after the deposit fully clears, and confirm the live Withdraw To screen.
