Who this guide is for
US adults who can already open Polymarket and now need to narrow browse to NFL, Sports, or one category so they are not staring at every ticket — where category / sport / filter lives if official help or the live browse labels it, why that tap is not a fill, and why it is not a watchlist. This is not how to find an NFL market, not how to search for a player, not how to use a watchlist, and not how to read a moneyline. Those pages are the game-first hunt, the named-player card, the pin, and the winner sentence. This page is only the category strip. Then we link out. Polymarket is the only live outbound on this page.
Where category / sport / filter lives
Hard rule: if official US help names the control, we name it. If it does not, we describe the action — scroll the top categories and tap one. Official Browse Markets is the home-screen category strip. Official What is Polymarket US? names NFL as a listed sport. Official Website vs App splits the international site from the US desk.
The category strip is on the home screen
Official Browse Markets
Official Browse Markets: find active markets on the home screen, then scroll across the top section to view the available categories. That top strip is the published US way to stop staring at every ticket. Official copy names professional football, professional basketball, professional hockey, and college football. Official What is Polymarket US? names NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, CBB, tennis, golf, and more. Those are two published lists — not a live chip we invent. Follow the live Sports / Football / NFL label if the app prints a different word.
Official US help does not reprint a Filter button
Describe the action
Official Browse Markets, Official Place a Trade, Official Events & Markets, and Official Glossary do not reprint a retail tab, tile, or definition labelled Filter on the swipe we checked. The action is: on the home screen, scroll the top categories and tap the sport or category you want. If the live US app shows a control labelled Filter, Sports, Football, or NFL, use that live label. If the control is missing or named differently, stay on the home-screen strip and do not hunt a header we invent.
A series folder is not the home-screen strip
Official Events & Markets
Official Events & Markets: a series is a broad grouping — a league or a season folder. Their teaching examples are season labels, not a live 2026 board we reprint. Opening a series is one click further down the stack (series → event → market). Tapping a home-screen category is the browse filter: it hides other categories on the list in front of you. Do not mash the season folder onto the top strip as if they were the same control.
International category and filter tools are not the US desk
Official Website vs App · flagged
Public international browse copy names category chips and search-and-filter tools on polymarket.com. Official Website vs App: polymarket.com is a different product, and US residents cannot deposit or trade there. Official US docs also publish developer sports and tag endpoints — those are API filters, not a home-screen Filter tab we will paste onto the swipe. Confirm the live US category strip after KYC. If the sports desk is hidden where you live, stop.
Official US docs · no invented Filter tab · follow live Sports/NFL labels · US app, not polymarket.com
Pick NFL / Sports / one category
Official Browse Markets currently lists professional football among the US categories. Official What is Polymarket US? lists NFL. If the live chip uses a different word, follow that word. See how to find an NFL market when you already know the game — this page does not clone that hunt.
Tap one published sport — then stop scrolling every ticket
Official Browse Markets
The point of the strip is to leave the mixed home list. Tap professional football if that is the live chip, or NFL / Sports / Football if that is what the US app prints. Official Browse Markets: additional categories open as they finish testing and review. A category that is not on the strip yet is not a market we invent. We will not invent a Week 2 slate inside that category.
A listed category is not a promise every game is listed
State + schedule
Official Browse Markets: additional categories open as they complete testing and regulatory review. An NFL market listed nationally can still be hidden where you live. Sports markets are the most contested category anywhere. A category tap is not a scheduled NFL game, and it is not a fill. Confirm the matchup on the official league schedule only when you later open one event — that hunt lives on How to find an NFL market. This page only narrows the board.
One category still holds many events
Official Events & Markets
Official Events & Markets: one series holds many events; one event holds several Yes/No tickets (moneyline, spread, total, prop). Narrowing to NFL / professional football hides basketball and hockey. It does not pick the winner sentence, the player prop, or a named player. How to search for a player and How to read a moneyline are those later clicks. Leave them linked.
Official Browse Markets · professional football / NFL · category ≠ one game · no Week 2 slate
Filtering is not a fill
Official Place a Trade is still a Yes or a No, a dollar amount, review, and a swipe. The category tap ends one step earlier — on a shorter list. How to buy your first NFL ticket is the swipe from a clean US account. We do not reprint that click path here.
Tapping a category is not a Yes or a No
Official Place a Trade
Official Place a Trade: from the home screen you browse, tap any market to open it, then select Yes or No, enter a dollar amount or Max, review, and swipe up to confirm. The category tap happens one step earlier — on the list, before you open a ticket. It does not spend cash, rest a limit, or lock a price. We do not reprint a live Yes or No on the cards you still see.
A narrower list does not create a position
No size, no book
Official Events & Markets: a market settles at $1.00 or $0.00 only for the contracts you hold. Official Place a Trade puts the fill after you pick a side and confirm. A filtered home screen has neither side. If you later swipe, that click path lives on How to buy your first NFL ticket. This page stops when the list is one category, not every ticket.
Official Place a Trade · category tap ≠ swipe · narrower list ≠ position · no live price
Filtering is not a watchlist
A browse view hides other categories. A pin — if the live app shows one — keeps a single printed sentence. See how to use a watchlist for the star / follow / save action. This how-to does not clone it.
A category is a browse view, not a saved ticket
Different click
Filtering hides other categories on the home screen. A watchlist — if the live app shows star / follow / save — pins one opened market so you can reopen that printed sentence later. Official US help does not reprint a Watchlist tab; How to use a watchlist describes that pin. Tapping NFL does not star every football card, and starring one card does not hide basketball. Do not mash the two.
Leaving the category does not unpin anything
Undo the view
Scroll back across the top strip and tap another category, or return to the mixed home list if the live app shows one. That undoes the filter. It does not sell a contract, cancel an order, or remove a saved market. Official Monitor Your Positions is still the filled-row screen — not this strip.
Category tap ≠ star / follow / save · undo the view ≠ sell · no invented Watchlist tab
How to narrow browse before you click
-
Step 1
Confirm your state is open — then enter the US (QCEX) flow
US access is back, but it is not universal. As of our June 2026 check Polymarket was reported unavailable in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. Florida is a green-light state. Sports markets are the most contested category anywhere. A category listed nationally can still be hidden where you live. Use the claim button on this page so you enter the compliant US on-ramp. Official Website vs App: US residents browse and trade in the Polymarket US app, not on the international website. Age is 18+ with KYC — not the 21+ / 1-800-GAMBLER frame on our DFS pages.
-
Step 2
Open the home screen and scroll the top categories — follow the live labels
Official Browse Markets: find active markets on the home screen, then scroll across the top section to view the available categories. Official copy names professional football; Official What is Polymarket US? names NFL. Official US pages we checked do not reprint a button labelled Filter — if the live app chips Filter, Sports, Football, or NFL, follow that live label. Do not invent a Week 2 slate. If the sports desk is hidden where you live, stop.
-
Step 3
Tap NFL / Sports / one category so the list is not every ticket
Tap the published sport you want. That is the filter: the mixed home list should drop the other categories. Official Browse Markets: additional categories open after testing and review — a missing chip is not a category we invent. Official Events & Markets: you are still looking at many events inside that series. You have not opened a game and you have not picked a moneyline. How to find an NFL market is the hunt for one game. This page only narrows the board.
-
Step 4
Stop. A category tap is not a fill, and it is not a watchlist
Official Place a Trade starts the fill only after you tap a market, pick Yes or No, enter a dollar amount or Max, review, and swipe. Opening a category does not buy size and does not lock a price. Pinning one ticket — if the live app shows star / follow / save — is How to use a watchlist. We do not reprint a live board or a ticket count. If the title pile is still every sport, you have not filtered yet.
-
Step 5
Leave the hunt, the player search, and the winner sentence on their own pages
How to find an NFL market is search versus the hub for one scheduled game. How to search for a player is the named-player card. How to read a moneyline is the winner sentence. How to use a watchlist is the pin. This page is only how to narrow browse to NFL / Sports / a category. Event contracts can settle at zero. Trade only what you can afford to lose. Nothing here is investment advice.
Blocked and contested states
Reported unavailable as of June 2026: Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. That list is not a promise it stays still — litigation around sports event contracts in particular can narrow or shift access. If you are in a listed state, do not treat a Sports/NFL category as a desk you can trade. If you are in Florida or another green-light state, still confirm the app lets you finish KYC and that the category actually appears before you send money.
Age is 18+ with identity verification. That is a different gate from the 21+ / responsible-gambling frame on our DFS pages, because these are traded financial instruments. If you also want NFL DFS, start at the picks hub — filtering a salary-cap slate is not this strip. Compare platforms on the prediction-markets hub.
What you will not get from this page
A dollar welcome match, a paste-this promo code, a live ticket count or price, an invented Week 2 slate, an invented Filter tab Official Browse Markets does not print, a newsletter form, a cloned find-NFL-market / player-search / watchlist / moneyline walkthrough, or claim buttons for Kalshi, DraftKings, FanDuel, Underdog, Sleeper, PrizePicks, Hard Rock or BetRivers. We could not verify a standing official US welcome bonus on Polymarket’s own terms. Other publishers’ partner codes are theirs; we do not copy them. The honest user-facing line is still US access via CFTC-regulated QCEX — official Browse Markets puts categories on the home-screen top strip (professional football / NFL), Official US help does not reprint a Filter button so we describe the tap, a category is not a fill, and it is not a watchlist. Last verified August 8, 2026.
