How to Read Open Orders on Polymarket (US 2026)

Find the working-order list and read the row. It is not a filled ticket, not the public book, and not a cancel walkthrough.

By Scott · Last verified August 8, 2026

Trading involves risk — a working order is not a floor

Polymarket offers CFTC-regulated event contracts: financial/derivatives products, not sportsbook bets and not daily fantasy. You can lose money, including your entire stake. Reading a resting clip does not cap a later fill, and a fill can still settle at zero. Nothing on this page is investment advice. For adults 18+ with KYC. Sports markets are the most contested category; state availability can change. DFS pages on this site use a separate 21+ / 1-800-GAMBLER frame — do not mix the two.

Advertising disclosure: the claim button is an affiliate link. We may earn a commission if you sign up through it, at no extra cost to you. That never changes our ratings, and it is not a user bonus.

Who this guide is for

US adults who already posted a limit — or think they did — and now need to find the working-order list and read it: where that list lives if public help or the live Portfolio shows one, why an open order is not a filled position, and why this is not how to cancel. This is not how to cancel or edit an order, not how to read the order book, not how to tell maker from taker, and not how to read your portfolio. Those pages are the cancel control, the public ladder, the role on a fill, and the cash-plus-positions screen. This page is the working-order list. Then we link out. Polymarket is the only live outbound on this page.

An open order is not a filled position

Official Glossary splits open order from open position. Official Orders & Trading is the lifecycle before a fill. Official Monitor Your Positions is the ticket after it matches. Do not mash them into one “my money” row. See prediction markets vs sportsbooks if you wanted a house pending-bets slip. There isn’t one.

Open order — size still waiting

Official Glossary

Official Glossary: an open order is an order waiting on the book to be filled. Official Orders & Trading: after Pending, the resting state is Open. Official Order Types: leftover size that did not match stays on the book as an open order until it fills or you cancel. That clip is working size. It is not a Yes/No you already own.

Open position — contracts you already hold

Official Glossary + Monitor Your Positions

Official Glossary: an open position is the contracts you currently hold. Official Monitor Your Positions: those filled tickets show contracts held, average entry, current market price, and potential payout. Official Orders & Trading: once the order is Filled, you have a position. Do not read a working-order row as that card.

Order status — open, filled, or partially filled

Official Glossary + Orders & Trading

Official Glossary: order status is whether an order is open, filled, or partially filled. Official Orders & Trading adds the full lifecycle: Pending, then Open, Partially filled, Filled, or Canceled / Expired / Rejected. A Partially filled row means some size matched and the rest is still working. The matched piece is already a position. The leftover is not.

Official Glossary · Open ≠ Filled · leftover can still be Open

Where the open-orders list lives

Hard rule: if official help names a screen, we name it. If the US pages do not reprint that label, we describe the action. Official Website vs App splits the international site from the US desk.

On that market’s page (web)

Official Limit Orders help

Official Limit Orders help (international, updated April 20, 2026): when you have an open order, it is displayed just below the Order Book on that market’s page. That is your working clip on the ticket you posted into — not the public bid/ask ladder above it, and not a filled Yes/No card. We do not reprint a live price under that clip.

Portfolio — Open orders (web, more than one market)

Official Limit Orders help

Official Limit Orders help names a Portfolio page Open orders view for resting clips across more than one market (polymarket.com/portfolio?tab=Open+orders). That published tab is working orders. Official Website vs App: polymarket.com is not the US deposit-and-trade desk. Official US Monitor Your Positions describes cash, open positions, and total value — it does not reprint that “Open orders” tab name. If the live US Portfolio shows a working-order list, use that list. If it does not, find unfilled size on the market you posted.

US app — confirm the live Portfolio or the market you posted

Describe the action

Official Place a Trade: after a swipe, open the Portfolio tab to track the position and market value. Official Website vs App: US residents deposit and trade in the Polymarket US app, not on the international website. Official Monitor Your Positions does not reprint a retail header labelled “Open orders.” We will not invent one. The action is: open Portfolio, then find any row that is still waiting on the book; if that list is not there, open the market you posted and look for your resting clip on that ticket.

Official Limit Orders help names Open orders on web · US pages do not reprint that tab

How to read a working-order row

Official Order Types is leftover size. Official Limit Orders help is where the clip sits on web. We name the facts on the row. We do not walk a cancel, and we do not reprint a live ladder.

Which market the clip is sitting on

The ticket, not the whole book

A working-order list is your unfilled size, market by market. The public order book on that same ticket is everyone else’s bids and asks. Official Glossary names both: an open order is your resting request; the order book is the list of bids and asks. Read your row first. How to read the Polymarket order book is the ladder. This page does not walk it.

Whether any size has matched

Open vs partially filled vs filled

Official Order Types: if the book is short, you receive a partial fill and the unfilled portion stays as an open order. Official Orders & Trading names that middle state Partially filled. If the status is already Filled, you are reading a position, not a working order — leave this list and open Portfolio’s open-position rows. We do not reprint a live leftover count.

That this list is not a cancel control

A later how-to

Finding the row is not canceling it. Official Limit Orders help puts a cancel control on the working-order row (the red x on that international page). Official US Place a Trade does not reprint that control on the first-buy swipe. We will not invent a US button. How to cancel or edit a Polymarket order is that walkthrough. This page stops at reading the list.

Your clip ≠ the public book · status first · cancel is a different how-to

How to find and read the list

  1. Step 1

Confirm you are looking for a working order — not a filled Yes/No

Official Glossary: an open order is waiting on the book; an open position is contracts you already hold. Official Orders & Trading: Filled means you have a position. If the clip already matched, this list will not rewrite it — that ticket lives on How to read your Polymarket portfolio. If you have not posted a limit yet, use How to place a limit order. This page assumes size may already be sitting.

  2. Step 2

Open the market you posted, or Portfolio, on the desk you actually use

Official Limit Orders help (web): the resting clip sits just below the Order Book on that market’s page; across several markets, that page names Portfolio → Open orders. Official Website vs App: US residents trade in the Polymarket US app, not on polymarket.com. Official Place a Trade: open the Portfolio tab after you swipe. Official US Monitor Your Positions does not reprint the international “Open orders” tab — confirm the live screen instead of hunting for a header we invent.

  3. Step 3

Find the working-order list — or the resting clip on that ticket

If public help or the live Portfolio shows an Open orders view, that is the multi-market list. If the US app does not print that tab, look on the market you posted for size that is still waiting. Do not confuse that clip with the public book above it. Official Liquidity and Official Prices & Market Data describe the book; they are a different how-to.

  4. Step 4

Read status, leftover size, and the market — then stop

Official Glossary: order status is open, filled, or partially filled. Official Order Types: leftover size is still an open order. A Partially filled row is two facts: some contracts are already a position, and the rest is still working. We will not invent a retail column header those US pages do not print, and we will not reprint a live price or a personal order count.

  5. Step 5

Leave cancel, the book, and maker versus taker on their own pages

Canceling or replacing the remainder is How to cancel or edit a Polymarket order. Bid versus ask is How to read the Polymarket order book. Who added size versus who lifted it is How to tell maker from taker. Event contracts can settle at zero. Trade only what you can afford to lose. Nothing here is investment advice.

This is not how to cancel — and not the public book

Official Limit Orders help puts a cancel on the working-order row. That click path, plus cancel-replace versus selling a fill, lives on How to cancel or edit a Polymarket order. This page will not repeat the red x, invent a US Edit button, or walk what happens to cash or USDC after a cancel.

Official Glossary: the order book is bids and asks. Your open order is one request sitting on that book. Bid versus ask, posted size, and why a market walks are How to read the Polymarket order book. Who added size versus who lifted it is How to tell maker from taker. We do not clone either.

Blocked and contested states

Reported unavailable as of June 2026: Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. That list is not a promise it stays still — litigation around sports event contracts in particular can narrow or shift access. If you are in a listed state, do not treat a working-order row as size you can still manage. If you are in Florida or another green-light state, still confirm the list (or the clip on that market) appears before you treat a remainder as yours.

Age is 18+ with identity verification. That is a different gate from the 21+ / responsible-gambling frame on our DFS pages, because these are traded financial instruments. If you also want NFL DFS, start at the picks hub — those pending-lineup rules do not carry over. Compare platforms on the prediction-markets hub.

What you will not get from this page

A dollar welcome match, a paste-this promo code, a live bid, ask, or personal order count, an invented US “Open orders” tab the official US pages do not print, a cloned cancel/edit / order-book / maker-versus-taker / portfolio walkthrough, or claim buttons for Kalshi, DraftKings, FanDuel, Underdog, Sleeper, PrizePicks, Hard Rock or BetRivers. We could not verify a standing official US welcome bonus on Polymarket’s own terms. Other publishers’ partner codes are theirs; we do not copy them. The honest user-facing line is still US access via CFTC-regulated QCEX — an open order is unfilled size waiting on the book, that is not a filled position, official international help names the clip below the Order Book and a Portfolio Open orders view, official US Monitor Your Positions does not reprint that tab so we describe the action, this page is not how to cancel, and anything those public pages do not print is not a label or a number we invent. Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find open orders on Polymarket?
Official Limit Orders help (international web): a resting order is displayed just below the Order Book on that market’s page; across more than one market, that page names Portfolio → Open orders. Official Website vs App: US residents trade in the Polymarket US app, not on polymarket.com. Official Place a Trade: open the Portfolio tab after you swipe. Official US Monitor Your Positions does not reprint the “Open orders” tab name — confirm the live working-order list, or find the clip on the market you posted. The only live claim on this page hops through /go/polymarket.
Is an open order the same as a filled position?
No. Official Glossary: an open order is waiting on the book to be filled; an open position is the contracts you currently hold. Official Orders & Trading: once the order is Filled, you have a position. Official Monitor Your Positions describes the filled ticket — average entry, current market, potential payout. A working row is unfilled (or leftover) size. Do not treat it as a Yes/No you already own.
Does the Polymarket US app show an “Open orders” tab?
Official US Monitor Your Positions names cash, open positions, and total account value. It does not reprint the international “Open orders” tab label from Official Limit Orders help. We will not invent that header on the US swipe. Official Place a Trade still sends you to the Portfolio tab after you trade. Find unfilled size there if the live app shows a working-order list; otherwise open the market you posted.
What does “partially filled” mean when I read the list?
Official Order Types: if there is not enough size at your price, you receive a partial fill and the unfilled portion stays on the book as an open order until it fills or you cancel. Official Orders & Trading names that state Partially filled. The contracts that already matched are a position. The leftover is still a working order. Official Order Types uses a teaching book ($0.52 ask, 1,000-lot clip) — that is a docs example, not tonight’s NFL board.
Is this the same as reading the Polymarket order book?
No. Official Glossary: the order book is the list of bids and asks — other traders’ posted size. An open order is your request still waiting on that book. How to read the Polymarket order book is bid versus ask, posted size, and why a market walks. This page is only your working-order list: where it lives, how to tell it from a filled position, and what a status row means.
Does this page tell me how to cancel or edit an open order?
No. This page is find-and-read. Official Limit Orders help names a cancel control on the working-order row (the red x on that international page). Official US Place a Trade does not reprint that control on the first-buy swipe. The cancel-versus-edit walkthrough is How to cancel or edit a Polymarket order. We link out instead of cloning it.
Is this the same as the cancel/edit, order-book, maker-versus-taker, or portfolio how-to?
No. Cancel/edit is how you pull or replace unfilled size. The order-book how-to is the public ladder. Maker versus taker is who added size versus who lifted it. Portfolio is cash, open positions, and why a mark is not withdrawable cash. This page is only how to find and read working orders. We link out instead of cloning those click paths.
Can I read Polymarket open orders in every US state?
No. As of our June 2026 check Polymarket was reported unavailable in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio. Florida is a green-light state. Sports markets are the most legally contested category anywhere. Confirm the ticket still appears and the working-order list still loads before you treat a row as yours.
Which claim button is actually live on this page?
Polymarket only. The claim button hops through /go/polymarket. There is no /go/kalshi, DraftKings, FanDuel, Underdog, Sleeper, PrizePicks, Hard Rock or BetRivers claim here. We do not invent tracking URLs.
Is there a Polymarket open-orders bonus or promo code on this page?
No. We do not publish a dollar welcome or a promo code. Partner codes that appear on other sites belong to those publishers. Confirm any live terms in the Polymarket US app. If you open Polymarket through our link we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — that is not a user bonus.
Is reading Polymarket open orders the same as checking an NFL DFS pending lineup?
No. Daily fantasy is a state-licensed gambling product — often 21+, with a 1-800-GAMBLER frame. Event contracts are CFTC-regulated financial/derivatives products, typically 18+ with KYC. A working order is unfilled size on a CLOB, not a contest lineup waiting to lock. A later fill can still settle at zero. There is no protected bonus floor.

Advertising disclosure: Polymarket links are affiliate links — we may earn a commission at no cost to you, which never affects our ratings. Kalshi, DraftKings, FanDuel, Underdog, Sleeper, PrizePicks, Hard Rock and BetRivers have no live outbound claim on this page. Event contracts are CFTC-regulated financial products, not gambling. Trading involves risk and you can lose money, including your entire stake. Not investment advice. 18+. DFS pages on this site use a separate 21+ / 1-800-GAMBLER frame.
